The Site's Limited Role

This is an independent reference site with no authority over Brooke County offices, Northern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, WVDCR, courts, or federal agencies. It stores no official jail, release, inmate, or court record. We cannot confirm a person's custody status, release anyone, file a court document, or change an agency record.

The site points to public resources and may connect a visitor with an outside research tool. Access to West Virginia public records is controlled by the public body and applicable law, including West Virginia Code §29B-1-3 and the exemptions in §29B-1-4. Nothing in these terms promises that an agency must release a particular record.

Acceptable Use Rules

You may use the site only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not harm others, the service, or connected systems. In particular, you agree that you will not:

• Use the site while committing or helping to commit an unlawful act
• Use information to stalk, threaten, intimidate, or harass any person
• Base an employment, housing, lending, credit, or insurance decision on site content
• Try to enter accounts, servers, or restricted areas without authorization
• Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools against the site
• Interfere with normal access, operation, or security for other visitors

No Consumer Reports

Brooke County Released Inmates is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not supply background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports, and neither do its advertising partners through this site. You agree not to use site content or linked-tool results for:

• Hiring, firing, promotion, or any other employment decision
• Tenant selection, lease approval, or another housing decision
• Creditworthiness, lending, or insurance premiums and coverage
• Licensing, permits, or eligibility for a government benefit
• Any other decision regulated by the FCRA

Links Beyond This Site

Links may lead to Brooke County offices, WVDCR release resources, court or federal portals, legal-aid information, and outside search providers. A link does not endorse the destination. We do not control its content, availability, security, data handling, prices, or results. Review the destination's own terms and privacy policy before using it.

Service Without Warranties

The site and all content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranty concerning:

Custody status, court dockets, agency contacts, and public databases can change without notice. No content on this private site is an official statement by the Brooke County Sheriff, WVDCR, a jail, a court, or another government body.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Brooke County Released Inmates and its operators will not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from access to, use of, or inability to use the site or any linked resource.

Your Duty to Indemnify

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Brooke County Released Inmates and its operators from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees caused by your use of the site or your violation of these terms.

Ownership of Site Materials

Unless stated otherwise, the site's text, graphics, logo, design, and code belong to Brooke County Released Inmates or its content partners. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from those materials without prior written permission.

Revisions to These Terms

We may change these terms at any time. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page, so visitors should review the terms from time to time.

Restriction or Loss of Access

We may suspend, limit, or end a person's access to all or part of the site at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

West Virginia Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of West Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction in West Virginia.

If One Term Is Invalid

If a court finds one part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. The affected provision will be narrowed or adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
